So the artist that I picked out of the magical blue box was....

I've not heard of this artist, but by going a quick google search and found out that he is an art nouveau designer.

Animal and Object

Image
So in my photoshop class today we were given a random animal and a random object and were asked to re-invent the object.

My two were:
Animal: Snake
Object: Telephone box

So I did some research and went on to create a few images below.

Not to keen on these, so I need to work on them

So heres a rough sketch to my interior design. Now to paint..

Thumbnails Interior gradients

Image
So have played around with the gradients for the interior shoots as well to give me an idea on how I can colour the room.

Thumbnails interior development

Image
Here are some quick thumbnail designs for my interior. Im really leaning toward the top left one. as i love the look of the stairs and the composition. I would also like to turn the door way into a balcony so you can see the the other half of the city.

Exterior shot layout

Image
So here is the start of my exterior shot. l have started mapping out the design of my shot now I just have to start filling it in...

Thumbnails: Exterior gradient maps

Image
So have had a play with some gradients and color schemes for my exterior shot. I used some of the preset gradients and also made some of my own. I seemed to like using the purple and orange gradient. But i don't think these are the colors I want to use for my city. As my city describes serpentine and coral with in the city.

So I went away and looked into more mountain villages and managed to create these ones. I am really liking the bottom right and I actually enjoyed creating that one out of all of them

Film Review: King Kong 1933

Image
King Kong (1933) directed by 'Merian C. Coope'r and 'Ernest B'. Schoedsack is thought to be the Grandfather of all special effects films and movie blockbusters. This film was the summer blockbuster in 1933, and with what at the time high special effects that would shock and excite the audience."King Kong was created to grip and thrill like no movie before, and these basic principles hold surprisingly true today." (Haflidason, 2001).

The plot of the film revolves around a Carl Denham and his film crew who go off to an undiscovered island to try and shoot a new moving picture. But while they are there, they meet what is known to be King Kong, who takes a liking to their star of the show.

Thought the film we can see many different aspects about the culture at the time and how characters are stereotypically presented in films. One of these characters is Ann Darrow, who was played by Fay Wray. Ann's Character is presented as obviously a young lady with a dream…

So I'm continuing on with refining my ideas and thumbnails for my final designs. And I've quickly created some paintings to show different ways of viewing my city from afar.
the one that I like the most and have had some feedback on is the third city that I've created that's in the mountain.

I've just got to look more into mountains and villages to get more of an understanding of how they look and feel.
